Move a license to a new domain

Moving a site to a new domain is a two-step process: deactivate the old domain, activate the new one.

Why you have to do this

License tokens record which sites are currently active. Just changing your site_url() would leave the old domain registered, which counts against your seat pool until cleared.

Steps

  1. On the old domain: WP Admin → Image Rotation → License → click Deactivate this site. This calls our API to release the seat.
  2. Update your WordPress site URL in Settings → General to the new domain. Save.
  3. On the new domain: WP Admin → Image Rotation → License → paste your license key and activation code → click Activate.

If you cannot reach the old site

If the old site is already down (DNS gone, host shut off), use /account/licenses to deactivate the old domain's seat from your account portal. Then proceed with step 2 and 3 above.

Domain-locked licenses

Business tier licenses are domain-locked at issuance by default. If you bought one and need to move domains, email support@nereidalabs.com from the email on the order — we will reissue a new token bound to the new domain at no charge.
